Wirelessly transfer photos across your iPhone and PCs

If you ever have to transfer some photos from your iPhone to your computer, the step-by-step guides provided here is all you need to do just that.

In my previous posts, I have discussed how to backup your iPhone to a Mac and how to backup your iPhone to a Windows PC but sometimes; you may want to transfer some photos to your computer or perhaps, to a friend's computer without necessarily backing up your entire iPhone data to the computer, the tutorial provided here details the step-by-step guides required to accomplish the task.

Hints:

Since the method discussed here utilizes iCloud, a USB cable is not a requirement here since you can wirelessly transfer photos from an iPhone to a computer. Thus, you can import your photos wirelessly using iCloud.

Meanwhile, before you follow this method, make sure that you have an active iCloud account. If you don't have one yet, you can visit iCloud.com to create an iCloud account from there.

How to Wirelessly Transfer Photos from An iPhone to A Computer

  1. First, Confirm that iCloud Backup is Enabled for Photos

The first thing you need to do is to confirm that iCloud Backup for Photos is enabled on your iPhone.

To confirm this, from your iPhone, go to Settings > Photos. You will know that iCloud backup for Photos is enabled on the iPhone if the slider right in front of it is green. When this option is enabled in the iPhone's settings app, every photo you take will be uploaded to iCloud as long as your phone is connected to the internet.

  4. Click on the Photos icon

Once you are successfully logged on, you would be presented with a bunch of Apple stock icons each of which links directly to their respective service.
